Privacy Policy

Norman (operated by 1001608304 ONTARIO INC.) is a weekly calorie planning app. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect and what happens to it.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and sign-in details (password, or an Apple or Google sign-in link).
• Body and goal details you enter: age, sex setting, height, current and goal weight, weekly loss pace, and weigh-ins.
• Food: foods, portions, calories and nutrients you log, and saved meals.
• Activity: step counts and workouts you enter or plan.
• Your plan: weekly and daily calorie targets, schedule, and changes you make.
• Coach: questions you ask the coach and its replies.
• Choices: your starting point, reminder settings and your AI-help choice.
• Optional Accountability interest: if you choose to join the interest list for a possible human support pilot, we save the support types and check-in style you picked, your consent and the date. You can remove it anytime on the Norman Accountability page in More.
• Basic usage events: when you're signed in, we record a few simple events, like tapping a signup button, creating an account, seeing, opening or dismissing an in-app card, and saving or removing Accountability interest. Each event stores only the event name, where in the app it happened, the time and your account. It never includes your weight, food, calories, workouts, starting point or anything you type.
• Founding interest list: if you join our interest list, we save your email address, where you joined, and the date. Joining the list doesn't create a Norman account. We are not sending newsletters or marketing emails yet, and nobody on the list is marked as having agreed to marketing. Before any promotional email is ever sent, we'll ask again with full details about who we are and how to opt out, and every marketing email will include a working unsubscribe link. To be removed from the list in the meantime, ask through Support.
• Product feedback: if you use the feedback form, we save the answers you picked and any short note you wrote, plus the date. It's anonymous by design — no name or email is asked for — so please don't include personal, health or weight details in your note.
• Subscription status: whether your plan is active, which plan, store, and renewal date. We never see your card number.

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don't collect location, contacts or advertising IDs.

Why we use it

To run Norman: build and show your plan, estimate food and activity calories, answer coach questions, keep your account working, provide support and manage your subscription. We use basic usage events only to understand which parts of Norman's own website and app help people get started, and Accountability interest only to decide whether a pilot makes sense. We don't use your health, body or food details to decide what offers you see.

Food photos and AI

AI help is off until you turn it on. When it's on, photos or descriptions you choose to analyze, and coach questions with a short summary of your week, are sent to an AI service through our hosting provider's AI gateway to produce an estimate or reply. Norman doesn't store your food photos after the estimate. You can turn AI help off any time in More; manual logging always works.

Who processes data for us

• Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase) hosts the app, database and sign-in.
• AI model providers reached through the Lovable AI gateway, only when AI help is on.
• Apple and Google handle app store purchases and, if you choose, sign-in.
• RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription status for the app.

We don't sell your data and don't use your health or food details for advertising. Norman doesn't use advertising pixels or third-party marketing or analytics tools.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. Usage events and Accountability interest are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your Norman data, including usage events and Accountability interest, is deleted from our database. Email-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe (the link in any email works without an account), and anonymous feedback is kept while it remains useful for improving Norman. Store purchase records are kept by Apple or Google under their own policies.

Your choices and rights

• See and edit your details in the app.
• Turn AI help off in More.
• Delete your account and data in More → Delete account, or see how to delete your account.
• Ask a privacy question through Support or at support@getnormanapp.com.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and database rules let each account read only its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.

Adults only

Norman is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app for important changes.
